March 1999

March was a relatively quiet month - at least for wedding planning. In real life, we were moving. Not only did this entail packing up all of our stuff but also stripping the wallpaper, pulling up the rugs, and primering the walls at the new house. Needless to say this was a seemingly endless and exhausting process. We would go over to the new house every night after work and come home around midnight. It was grueling. If I never smell wallpaper stripper solution again it will be too soon. And somehow we managed to find the time to pack half of our stuff. The other half got packed on Friday, moving day. Yes it was mayhem. But it was fun in a kind of way and most definitely worth it now that we are in our house. In, but far from settled! The links below show some of the pictures of our house, inside and out, and in various stages of rehabilitation! Hope you enjoy the photos :-)

Here it is, our beautiful new home! We fell in love with the porches the minute we saw them, it definitely makes the house stand out and they are great to sit on and read the Sunday paper!

Here we are hard at work! Michael is soaking the wall to get the last bits of paper off and I am sanding over some plaster patches before we get ready to primer. Did I mention this was an exhausting month?

We had many wonderful helpers - especially Mark, Liron, Mea, Victor, Tammi, and Breck. You are all the reason we were even able to move into a semi livable house! Thank you! But for some reason we only have action shots of Mark and Liron. Mark and Michael are definitely not showing us their best sides to the left here!

Amazingly these photos are of the same room. The wallpaper in this room, the back bedroom/study was the absolute worst. We didn't even tackle it until this summer. But luckily by then we were semi-pros so it wasn't as bad as it could have been! But still, it was hot and sticky work. But finally all the wallpaper was down, we primered and painted. The color we chose ended up being lighter than we thought, but it grew on us so much we decided to paint the bedroom this same color as well. Now as soon as the floors are done in the bedrooms, we can move all of the stuff out of the dining and living rooms and get to work in there! As long as its all done by next April!
