ARRIVING
IN BOSTON
By
Plane:
If you are arriving by plane, you will arrive in Bostons semi-chaotic
Logan Airport. While the individual terminals are not chaotic, the chaos occurs
outside as Logan is a series of five terminals, parking garages, rental car
depots, a "T", and other sundry airport buildings and hotels connected
by windy roads that range from 1-5 lanes and which are currently in a state
of flux. Needless to say if you are unfamiliar with Logan and Boston in general
it would be best to take a taxi or arrange for a friend to pick you up, rather
than renting a car as Boston is a very accessible city. If you need a ride
we have several friends who have volunteered to help just let us know!
A taxi ride to the Hyatt or any Boston area hotel should cost somewhere between
$10-$20. It is a $25-$30 ride to our home in Somerville. If you are looking
for flight information, check out expedia.msn.com
my favorite travel info site!
By Car:
For those of
you making the trip to Boston by car, most of you will be coming from the
South and will find yourself on either the Mass Pike or Rt128/95. See the
directions listed on the Reception page.

Rental
Cars:
For those of
you wishing to rent a car, all of the major
rental car companies service Boston out of Logan Airport. In addition,
Hertz has an office at both the airport
and in Harvard Square, which is very close to the Hyatt.
The
"T" (Bostons Subway System):
In our opinion
the best way to get around Boston is the "T"
(unless you are coming from the airport with lots of luggage!) For $0.85 each
way the T takes you almost anywhere you want to go in Boston, if not then
its usually only a short walk from the closest station. The Hyatt offers free
shuttles to the T.
