33-35 Months
My notes are serioulsy a mess. Ugh, I am a suck mom. I need to get back on track with this. I was just reading some old entries when you were 19-20 months and I was shocked at what I have already forgotten. I am so glad I did this crazy journal thing, it will keep your babyhood so much more alive in my memories. Especially since I think I wa sa suck mom with the video camera too.... Ok, here's what I have -
Your new phrase is "what do you think of this?"
You like to make this face where you squint your eyes and stick out your chin - stubborn and arrogant you are!
We spent Thanksgiving in Key Largo. Oh the rough life! We went to a resprt community with a friend of your Grammy & Pa's and it was just so nice and so much fun. You had a great time at the Lagoon type beach there and it was so safe for kids which made it relaxing for us as well. But the best part was that everyone drove golf carts all over the property. Our condo came with 2 golf carts and we had fun driving all over the place. Talk about the life!
We donated some canned goods to a food drive your school was doing and it kind of freaked you out since I took all the items from our own pantry. The whole way to school you kept asking me "but what we ever going to eat?" I tried to explain it to you but you wanted to know why the people we were giving it to couldn't go to the grocery store themselves. Sigh.
You wanted to know who makes the rain stop - God - but who made God? He not a workerman.
Similar to the food pantry issue, you are now worried about us having enough money, now that I have explained to you that some people don't have enough money to buy the things they need. Now that you are convinced that we do have enough money however, you think we should just give money instead of toys to the poor kids this year. It is hard to share toys!
Instead of saying "in the morning" you say "in the good morning." Cracks me up everytime.
I wrote down "garbage song" - sadly I have absolutely no idea what it was.
You love to play with ropes, especially bungee ropes. You are very imaginative to say the least!
You are in a lovey phase I like it.
You got a bad booboo and you said "How am I ever going to get it off of me?"
You really are into ropes and strings and you keep twining rope through things like chairs, wrapping it around tables, etc. So I bought you so lacing cards but of course you really are not interested.
You sing "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer" absolutely perfectly. I love your sweet earnest voice.
You are so into Christmas, not surprising of course, but it makes the holidays much more exciting. I am over shopping for you of course. Santa is a good threat for good behaviosr that is for sure!
You are doing much better using your manners now. I love to hear you say please and thank you, mama. Makes me smile every time. Though I am hearing mom a lot more than mama these days. I like mama!
You have so many questions and I am so lacking in answers. Everything I say is answered with "yes, but why?"
Poor Florida boy, you are obsessed with snow. You are convinced it will snow when we are in PA for Christmas. I hope it will for your sake!
We went to our town Christmas parade and it was tons of fun. Lots of silly floats and merry people. You are such a mayor and just sat there on the curb and waved and waved to everyone marching by and you were yelling "Happy Holidays" to everyone. Then of course the big highlight was when the floats were throwing candy!
You are a tough cookie. You are in preschool - the 2 year old class! - and you have been sent to the principal. Mulitple times! Argh. Not listening, not listening, not keeping hands to self, not listening....
You are adamant that the toys are made in Santa's workshop. You like to hear stories about the workshop too.
You are so excited to decorate our (fake!) tree. Especially to put the star on top - that will be your special job.
We made gingerbread men this year and you ate as much as you decorated. I love this tradition of ours. We're also doing a chocolate advent calendar, so you have many many treats going on here!
You are starting to ask what day it is (probably a bit related to the advent calendar) but it is neat to hear you talking about the different days and what they mean to you.
You really are musical. You are starting to sing a lot more now, real songs and your own made up ones. Also, if I put music on in the car you can recognize the song just a few bars of music into the piece. Perhaps a hidden talent here!
You got an early Christmas present - a new bike! You are so confident on it already. I see many bike rides in our future. You look so grown up in your helmet and on the bike, I have to "sniff" a little.
You are really into Playdoh right now and it is fun to see what you can come up with. Bob
