Oh Alec, I am so sorry I fell so behind on your journal. I am sitting here trying to reconstruct my notes and some of them are so jumbled. I hope I can fill them in and capture a picture of the funny, quirky, sweet, stubborn kid you are.
You really are a sweet one. Owen was crying the other day and you told him, "Don't be sad Ow-ee, I here, you my best friend." Aw! And you tell me, "Don't worry mama"
When it rains you love to sing at the top of your lungs, "Rain rain go away, little Alec wants to play...."
Someone asked you your brother's name and you said "Owee" and I said to tell them his real name and you said "Owee the Be-do-ee" - oh well!
Your new expression is "Well..." and then you do a big dramatic pause.
I love some of your word combinations - "What are we having for dinner this after-morning?"
"Where we going?" "What we forgot?" - when I am doing an endless Florida u-turn.
We went to Seaworld with friends of mine who were in Orlando on vacation. It coincided nicely with a trade show your dad was going to and I was feeling brave to take you and your brother to Seaworld by myself. You had fun and called "Shamu" "Shampoo". I cracked up every time.
Your new word is "neighbors" and you love to use it when referring to our next door neighbors, we are so happy we have kids next door!
Now you always need to know "who built it?" I guess since the workermen built our house you are wondering who built everything else!
Another new phrase "I decided" - you kill me with these new words!
"I fill up"
"Mom, don't be bossy" - since I tell you that, I guess you figured you needed to tell me as well. Yes, mom is bossy!
There was a Halloween party and parade at your school. I went to watch you parade and then came to your class for the party.
You had so much fun trick-or-treating! Our neighborhood had a party at the clubhouse and you and Ow-ee went as worker men. They had food, games and a parade and I think your favorite was the pinata. You could really hit it! After the party you went trick-or-treating with you new "neighbors" and had fun with that.
Pa had these really weird rubber feet he put on for his "costume" and you were kind of freaked out by them. You kept staring at them and asking him when he was going to take his shoes off.
You are also a big fan of the "tricker treat" song. Especially the part about smelling my feet! Unfortunately you were also taught by someone the "I'll pull down my underwear" refrain as well. Oh well, I think it's cute to hear you sing it!
You still get very shy when people ask you your name.
Now at night when we snuggle before you fall asleep you tell me "I don't need your arm." - basically you don't want to snuggle, just lie there next to each other. My baby! Wah!
We have been doing a family playgroup at the Library and at the end they do circle time and sing songs. You got right up and sang the songs - I was so impressed. I can see you singing and pumping your arms down. You are so silly!
I was commenting on how much Owee was growing and you said "How does he grow?"
For creatures you say "creaters" and for computer you say "pecuter"
You talk about God more because you are learning about him at school. You asked me who made God. I didn't know how to answer.
