Well Acca-boo you are still the funniest kid I know. Your dad graduated this weekend and you went to the graduation and walked across the stage with him. You thought it was so cool! They gave him a diploma and you stuffed bear. When you came home you were so excited! You told me your dada was "dressed up like a black polar bear." - I about died laughing. I guess that's what he did look like in his graduation gown.
We went to a friends house for a graduation dinner celebration and Mimi was introducing herself to someone and she stuck out her hand and said "hi, I'm Peggy." You were standing next to her and stuck out your hand and said "hi, I'm Acca-boo." I cracked up. I really think you may think your name is Acca-boo now!
At dinner you also showed off your singing talents by singing your ABCs and Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. You have the sweetest voice and sort of sway your head a bit. Love it.
Today we were playing in your room and found a dirty sock. I put it to the side and said we'd put it in the laundry which is my room later. You picked it up and put it in your train caboose and said "I put it there for safe keeping." Where you learned that one I do not know!
You are talking full out in full sentences. I love it. You are such a smart one!
Owen was in his carseat in the house and you went over and started rocking the seat singing "Rock a bye baby in the treetops...." I thought my heart would break. So sweet. Must.have.video.camera.ready.
I feel more like your mom again, things are starting to normalize in our household. It's just such an adjustment. Two years of just you and me and now everything is so topsy turvy. I think it will take us awhile to figure it all out. Hugs help.
We're still having some rough episodes. I think it's a combination of the new baby and just being 2, but it does make for some difficult times bud. You hate to get changed, clothes or diaper. Just hate it. Refuse to leave the house when we want to. Pretty much locked me out of my room yesterday, just refused to let me in and you kept yelling "goodbye!" at me. I worry about all this anger. I guess it's normal, I just don't know. I worry so much about things like this - I don't want you to need a shrink when you are older because I was a suck-mom :( I love you sweet boy, I hope I am a good mom to you. And to Owen too.
I was nursing Owen and you got up on the couch next to me and says"What are you doing?" And I told you I was nursing him, that he was eating. You said "I want to nurse him!" I told you only mama's could nurse and you said "No I can nurse him too! I nurse him right here!" And you pulled up your shirt and started pointing at your belly button. Too funny!
You love to hold Owen. You'll walk up to me or come sit next to me and say "I hold him now." You'll raise your arms up together and say "Put him right here." So demanding and bossy about it, but so sweet you want to hold him. You give him sweet kisses on his head and sing songs to him, you really are a great big brother.
Your school marched in the town parade the other night. You had such a blast. You were like the mayor of the town, walking and waving to the crowds like you were born to it and just eating it all up. Your dad took a little mpeg of it but I think I'll always be able to see it in my mind. You make me smile, you make me so proud of you little guy.
You made a tent in the dining room with a sheet and two chairs. I asked you if you were camping out and you said "No, I am camping in."
You are so sweet to Owen. You like to hold his hand and always kiss his head. You ask me "what is he saying?"
You are obsessed with bobs and workermen. You have to wear a "bob" shirt or you get very upset. And since we only have 3, this is a problem. Need to go to Target and see what construction type shirts they have!
Yesterday at the playground you were digging with your backhoe in the sandbox and you told a girl "Don't come in the worker site, I a workerman, I digging" Then tonight in the car you told us you were going to be a workerman when you grow up and drive a backhoe. Obsessed I tell you. And you need to carry your special crane with you everywhere.
You are so funny these days bud. I think I need to carry a notebook with me all the time to keep track of all the funny things you say. Lately you have been coming out with all these funny expressions and random words. I wish I could think of an example right now - so mad at myself! I did tell you you were the best helper the other day and you looked at me and asked "in the world?" It's just random stuff like this that cracks me up.
We went yard saling on Saturday and everytime we pulled up near a sale you would yell "There's one, there's the sale" You got quite a few "bob" trucks for $1.25 and I told you what a good shopper you were and you've been telling everyone now what a good shopper you are. So funny.
We were on our way to meet Vivi and Caro at McDonalds for lunch and in the car you asked me "where is McDonalds?" and I told you "straight ahead" and you replied "McDonalds not in my head!"
I need to keep better track of all your funny things. But things that pop out a time right now -
- last night at Tom and Ann's after dinner we were playing ring around the rosy and when you fell down and were lying on the floor you looked up and said "wow, that's a nice roof with a window in it." So funny.
- you love when Owen makes his baby gurgle noises. Every time he does you yell "An Ow-ee noise!" and then you try to imitate the sound.
- We took you on a special day out with Thomas the train. You had a great time but when we ask you about it you say "I rode on Thomas, he take me to see the bobs" - b/c the train ride went over the highway where there were construction vehicles working. You are so obsessed with your bobs!
We're doing a new thing where we set a timer for you for 10 minutes of play time before bed. It seems to be working. And it cracks us up when you ask us to set your timer, I'm not sure if you realize it is a restrictive thing.
Well, preschool is over. You had such a good time there, I think you will miss it and I need to get on finding you a school when me move to Florida. We went to your end of year picnic and you were so excited for "the party at my school with my friends and balloons!"
You have consistently peed on the potty at school but are showing no interest at home. Wish you would - the cost of 2 kids in diapers is crazy!
You love rice krispies (or rice cookies as you call them) you sing "snap krackle pop" to them.
You're so affectionate lately, I love all the unsolicited hugs and kisses. My sweet baby boy! Though you are very adamant about the fact that you are not my baby, you are my big boy. *sniff*
We were leaving and you said, "Is dada coming?" and I told you he was busy. So you said. "He busy, but I busy too. I a workerman."
You are kind of bossy lately. Put my shirt on. Pull them up. Lie down with me. Read me a book. I need a snack.
We've moved on to Pull Ups, you seem more willing to wear them and get changed than with the diapers. When I was putting it on you the other day you said "Theses are pull-ups. You pull them up. Pull them up faster!" Bossy kid.
We had our good friends over before they moved back to Brazil and you got to play with your friends Kina Bina and Kio. It was complete and utter chaos, but so much fun. You love to have friends over, are always yelling "C'mon guys!" Trying to round them up to play whatever you are doing at that moment. I'll miss watching you grow up with these friends :( I know you'll make more friends, but these have been the sweetest two years.
You told Clio, "Kio, you my best friend." I'm not sure you know what it means but it was sweet.
"Girders and beams make a building. That's amazing." is what you told me as we were driving by a construction site.
Owen was crying and you said "What's the matter Ow-ee?" And I told you he was probably hungry. Dad went over to pick him up and you said "Dad, he hungry. You don't have the nursie babies."
You're new expression is "Off we go!" Usually said as we drive away from our house. Makes me laugh.
You were holding onto Owen's stroller and pulled the hood back and looked in at him and said "look at this sweet baby boy." You obviously had seen and heard someone do and say the exact same thing.
We wanted you to come inside the other night to get ready for bed. You looked at us very defiantly and planted yourself in your sandbox and said "I a workerman, this my workerman site" - like how dare we try to remove the workerman!
We went outlet shopping on Friday and you were so good, I was so proud of you. And then on the way home in the car you said "That was fun! Maybe we go back another day with Marshall." - because we had gone there awhile back with Marshall. This made me so sad because we are all moving away and you won't get to go back with Marshall :(
Clio came over for dinner last night and you guys really got along well. It is so funny to hear you two carrying on little conversations.
Everytime you hear a new word you ask what it means - "Woodsman. What woodsman mean mama?" You are all about the meaning of words now.
In the car when Owen is crying you tell him, "Don't worry Owen, we're almost there."
Owen was crying and you said, "He crying, he wants milk, it's in your belly." Um, not quite bud.
You wanted to help me make dinner the other day and I told you no because I was in a hurry and you had a complete meltdown, yelling, "But I the best helper in the world!" So much for positive parenting.
